The Arizona Piano Institute (API) hosted its annual Summer Festival from June 2 to June 8, 2024, at Phoenix College. Themed “The Art of Listening,” the festival offered young pianists aged 8 to 21 a comprehensive program of masterclasses, workshops, and recitals focused on both solo and ensemble performances. Participants had the opportunity to learn from esteemed faculty members, enhancing their musical skills and deepening their appreciation for the nuances of piano artistry.

The Festival culminated in a Student Showcase Recital on June 8, where students presented their prepared pieces to an audience, demonstrating the progress and insights gained during the week.

In addition to the API Summer Festival, Arizona’s summer of 2024 featured a variety of music festivals catering to diverse tastes.

Country Thunder Festival

Notably, the Country Thunder Festival in Florence, held from April 11 to 14, showcased top country music artists and attracted thousands of fans. Later in the year, the Dusk Music Festival in Tucson offered an eclectic mix of musical acts, energizing diverse groups of people who genuinely care about Tucson and want to have a hand in its continuous reinvention.
